The Surrounding Area

The central location of Glenkilrie ensures there are plenty of activities within easy reach: from an abundance of fantastic tracks and trails perfect for walking and cycling to a Ski Centre, Golf Courses, Shooting, Fishing and many of Scotland's best known Castles.

 Guests are free to explore the Glenkilrie Estate during their stay, which hosts a number of different routes.  Another highly recommended route in the area is The Cateran Trail, this route will take you through the picturesque Glenshee and the surrounding areas.

​

Glenshee Ski Centre, which hosts the largest number of lifts in Scotland, is only a twenty minute drive from Glenkilrie.

​

​For those who are interested in the history of Scotland, Glamis Castle, Balmoral Castle and Royal Deeside, Scone Palace and Blair Castle are all within a one hour drive from Glenkilrie.

​

For the sportsperson there are also a few golf courses locally and the Famous Old Course at St Andrews is within a reasonable distance.

​

Shooting can be arranged and Glenkilrie also has approximately a one mile stretch of the River Blackwater, which can be fished throughout the Summer months for Salmon and Sea Trout.
